Barry Cinnamon, CEO
Our founder, Barry Cinnamon, is a widely recognized expert and long-time advocate of solar power. He began his career in solar energy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). During the late 1970s and early 1980s, he designed and installed active solar, passive solar and ground coupled heat pump systems. He served as CEO of Software Publishing Corporation, and founded Allegro New Media. Mr. Cinnamon earned a BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering from MIT and an MBA degree in Marketing from Wharton. He is a NABCEP Certified Solar Installer, a licensed California C-46 Solar Contractor, an active member of the Silicon Valley Leadership Group and a member of the Board of Directors of the national Solar Energy Industries Association and California Solar Energy Industry Association. |

Gary Effren , CFO
Mr. Effren joined Akeena Solar as Chief Financial Officer in September, 2007. Prior to his current role with Akeena, from 1980 to 2006, he held various executive financial positions including vice president of finance and chief financial officer at Knight Ridder, Inc. a Fortune 500 media company and the second largest newspaper company in the United States.
Mr. Effren has been a member of the Board of Directors of United Way Silicon Valley since 2001, is a member of its Executive Committee and is Chairman of the Audit Committee.He is a CPA and received his MBA from the University of Miami as well as a B.S. in Commerce from Rider College. |

Jeff Kiel,
EVP-Sales & Marketing
Mr. Kiel is responsible for leading the sales and marketing efforts of Akeena Solar. Prior to joining Akeena, he served as President/Publisher and VP/Advertising of the San Jose Mercury News. He has also served as VP/Sales and Business Development at a Silicon Valley mobile technology company. Prior to joining the Mercury News, he was VP/Finance and CFO at the Miami Herald Publishing Company. Mr. Kiel currently serves on the Board of Directors of the San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce and Secretary/Treasurer on its Executive Committee. Mr. Kiel holds a B.S. in Accounting from The University of Florida. |

Gary Mull, Vice President, Marketing
Mr. Mull is responsible for leading Akeena Solar’s marketing efforts. Mr. Mull brings over 25 years of experience defining, developing, marketing and selling product and service solutions in both consumer and commercial markets. Mr. Mull’s recent experience includes senior marketing roles with diCarta, Siebel Systems, Onlink Technologies, and Software Publishing Corporation. Mr. Mull's involvement in technology related solutions began with development of transaction and cash management solutions for the financial services industry, where he was an early pioneer in designing electronic banking systems. Mr. Mull holds a Bachelors degree from San Francisco State University. |

Steven Marks, Vice President of Operations
Mr. Marks is responsible for defining and directing the operations of Akeena Solar. He comes to Akeena following a twenty-two year tenure as the Chief Executive Officer and General Counsel of one of the largest Regional O.E.M. Auto, Truck and Heavy Equipment Glass Installer in the Southeastern United States. Prior to that, Mr. Marks was engaged in the private practice of law, a twenty-nine year member of the Florida Bar, specializing in business law and business modeling, NFL player contract negotiation and trial litigation. Mr. Marks is a skilled and seasoned leader of business logistics and operations. Mr. Marks holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Southern California, where he just completed a three year term on the Board of Governors. Mr. Marks earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Miami. |

Board of Advisors
Steve Westly
Mr. Westly is founder of The Westly Group, which helps entrepreneurs build great companies in clean technology. Previously he served as controller and chief fiscal officer for the State of California. As controller, he chaired the State Lands Commission and served on 63 other boards and commissions, including CalPERS and CalSTRS, the nation’s two largest public pension funds. He also led an effort to commit more than $1 billion to clean technology investments. Westly began his career in Washington, D.C., where he worked first on Capitol Hill and later in the Office of Conservation and Solar at the U.S. Department of Energy. Westly then returned to California to become special assistant to the President of the California Public Utilities Commission. While there, he published two books on alternative energy and the utilities.
Joe Abrams
Mr. Abrams specializes in working with small technology companies to build shareholder value in the public markets. As a direct result of his efforts, he has completed merger and acquisition transactions in excess of $1 billion and small cap market equity raises in excess of $200 million. Abrams co-founded Intermix in 1998, the predecessor company to MySpace, which was sold to News Corp. in 2005 for $580 million. In 1983, Abrams co-founded The Software Toolworks, Inc., a publicly held developer, publisher, and distributor of educational and entertainment software, which was sold to Pearson, Plc. in 1994 for $462 million. |
